In mining, cement and aggregates, bearing failure means costly downtime, safety risks and lost production. SKF spherical roller bearings are engineered to handle extreme loads, contamination and misalignment, delivering longer service life and greater reliability in the toughest applications.
Customers benefit from fewer failures, reduced maintenance costs, lower energy consumption and improved operational efficiency. While the purchase price may be higher, SKF helps reduce total cost of ownership, making it the preferred choice when productivity, reliability and profitability matter most.
Heavy process industries are leaving significant performance gains on the table. This Frost & Sullivan vBook explores the business case for improved asset monitoring, highlighting practical opportunities to increase uptime, efficiency, profitability and long-term competitiveness.

When critical wastewater assets need maintenance, every hour of downtime impacts productivity, costs and operational performance. At Carden Park, replacing conventional bearings on two RBC units would traditionally have required gearbox removal, crane hire and several days of planned downtime.
SKF Cooper split spherical roller bearings changed the equation. By eliminating the need to remove the gearbox, the entire replacement was completed in just seven hours, delivering significant cost savings, improved asset availability and a safer, more predictable maintenance process.
Discover how Environmental Wastewater Solutions reduced operational risk, simplified maintenance and created a solution that can be replicated across similar installations.
Unexpected bearing failures, excessive vibration, contamination and difficult maintenance access can turn a critical asset into a costly production bottleneck. In harsh mining and aggregates environments, even small reliability issues can quickly lead to unplanned downtime, lost output and rising maintenance costs.
Discover how application-specific bearings, lubrication, condition monitoring and engineering expertise can help extend service life, reduce maintenance intervention and keep your screens running reliably for longer.
SKF pillow block roller bearing units consist of a spherical roller bearing mounted in a non-split housing that can be bolted to a support surface. The units are sealed and lubricated and ready to use. This assortment of units covers a wide range of requirements. Metric series units comply with ISO 113 boundary dimensions. Inch series units are not standardized, but SKF roller bearing units are dimensionally interchangeable with most common designs in the marketplace.
The range bearing units with a bore up to 60 mm is available from stock. The bigger sizes will be available soon.
SKF SYSTEM 24 improves energy efficiency by maintaining an optimum lubricant film between moving surfaces. This reduces friction, operating temperatures and power losses in bearings. In cement plants, smoother-running bearings require less energy, experience less wear and contribute to longer equipment life, reduced maintenance and lower CO₂ emissions.
Discover how condition monitoring helps mining and cement plants reduce unplanned downtime, improve safety and lower maintenance costs. Learn the differences between condition-based, predictive and prescriptive maintenance, how to build a proactive strategy, and explore real-world case studies that improve rotating equipment reliability and performance.
Recurring bearing failures were disrupting production and driving unnecessary maintenance costs. This case study from Antifriction, one of SKF's Authorised Distributors, shows how expert application support identified the root cause, improved reliability, extended bearing life and delivered more than £32,000 in downtime savings within just 12 weeks.
